Marianne Leonie Petrus Thyssen (Dutch pronunciation: [mɑrˈjɑnə 'tɛi̯sə(n)]; born on 24 July 1956 in Sint-Gillis-Waas) is a Belgian politician and Member of the European Parliament for Flanders with the CD&V, a Vice-Chairwoman of the European People's Party and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection.On 15 May 2008 she was elected chair woman of CD&V.She is a substitute for the Committee on International Trade, a member of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and a substitute for the Delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee.
