Matthew Ricketts Politician

Matthew Oliver Ricketts (3 April 1858 - 1917) was an American politician and physician. He was the first African-American state senator in the Nebraska Legislature, where he served for two terms. He was also the first African American to graduate from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha.
