Matthew Rose, (born 24 September 1975 in Dartford, Kent ), is a former English professional footballer who currently is Head coach of Arsenal's European Elite Academy.Rose started at Arsenal as a trainee, captaining his side to an FA Youth Cup victory in 1994; he made his first-team debut against Manchester City on 5 March 1996. He made five appearances (three as sub) for the Gunners before moving to QPR for £500,000 in May 1997. His last game in an Arsenal shirt saw him score an own goal although they went on to win 2-1. He became a regular at QPR and made over 250 appearances for them in all competitions. One of the more important of the 8 goals he scored there was in September 2004 to seal a last minute 3-2 win at Brighton with a left-foot curling shot into the top corner. He was released from his contract by John Gregory in January 2007 and left the club. On 23 February, Matthew signed for League One side Yeovil Town. He scored his first and what turned out to be only goal for Yeovil against Bristol Rovers in October 2007. At the end of the 2007-2008 season Matthew rejected a new contract offer from Yeovil Town.
