Mike Slattery Politician

Mike Slattery is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 24th district. He has served since 2009, and is the son of Jim Slattery, who served the 2nd District of Kansas from 1983-1995. Mike is currently the youngest member of the Kansas Legislature, and the only Democrat to defeat an incumbent in the Kansas House of Representatives in 2008. Mike is currently the only Kansas House of Representatives member Democrat from Johnson County, and the only Democrat elected in Johnson County in a partisan election.Mike received a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Science and Technology with an emphasis in Energy and Environmental Policy from James Madison University. He works for J.E. Dunn Construction in Project Management. During his time with J.E. Dunn Construction, Mike has worked on projects including the H&R Block World Headquarters, Applebee's Headquarters, and the Belton, Missouri City Hall and Annex.
