Murder of Anita Cobby

Anita Lorraine Cobby (née Lynch, 2 November 1959 – 2 February 1986) was an Australian registered nurse, in the state of NSW and beauty pageant winner. At 26 years old, she was abducted from the western Sydney suburb of Blacktown, and raped and murdered at nearby Prospect, on the evening of 2 February 1986. Five men, including three brothers, were convicted of her murder and sentenced to life imprisonment, without any possibility of parole. The murder caused much outrage within the community and Australia at large, who subsequently campaigned for justice and the reinstatement of the capital punishment
