Neil Ronan Gaelic games player

Neil Ronan (born 1 September 1979) is an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-forward for the Cork senior team.Born in Ballyhea, County Cork, Ronan first excelled at hurling whilst at school at St. Colman's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 hurling side. He made his senior debut during the 1999 championship. Ronan went on to play a key part for Cork, and won two All-Ireland medals and three Munster medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Ronan won one Railway Cup medal. At club level he has won one premier intermediate championship medal with Ballyhea.Ronan's brother, Darren, also played for Cork.Throughout his career Ronan made 28 championship appearances. He retired from inter-county hurling in 2009.
