Nuno Jorge Pereira da Silva Valente, OIH (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈnunu vɐˈlẽt(ɨ)]; born 12 September 1974) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a left back.After settling with a club in his late 20s with Porto – he started his career with Sporting, but never imposed there – he moved at 31 to England with Everton, where he finally retired after appearing in 60 competitive games in four seasons.A late bloomer on the international stage, Valente helped Portugal finish second in Euro 2004. He also participated in the 2006 World Cup.
