Pat Cadam

Pat Cadam is owner and founder of Pat’s Garage and owner and co-founder of Green Gears, a San Francisco based organization dedicated to facilitating the commercialization of plug-in transportation technology. Pat’s passion for designing and maintaining a more sustainable form of transportation has been fueling his work for the past 25 years. Born in Iowa and raised in the heart of Southern California Car Culture, Pat graduated in 1970 from California State Polytechnic University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Renaissance History and Political Science. After doing post-graduate work in Florence, Italy he moved to San Francisco in 1972. In 1986 Pat opened Pat’s Garage, one of the Bay Area’s leading auto repair facilities. Pat’s Garage focuses on Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas, Subarus and all hybrids. In 2007 Pat formed Green Gears to meet the needs of the emerging Plug In Hybrid industry. Green Gears has partnered with Google, PG&E, V2Green, Coulomb Technologies and Idaho National Laboratory in various projects promoting plug in technologies. Pat is a member of ACORE and is Chairman of their Renewable Transportation Committee. He is also on the Board of Advisors of Designing a Balanced Life and is on Board of Directors and was past president of the San Francisco Vikings Soccer Club. Pat also coaches two San Francisco men’s soccer teams and is married with two sons, one of whom currently installs and maintains PHEVs for Green Gears.
