Paul Franks Cricketer

Paul John Franks (born February 3, 1979) is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He was born in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England. He plays for Nottinghamshire. Franks has only won one cap for England, in 2000 at Trent Bridge versus the West Indies cricket team, but he missed the 2001 and 2002 campaigns with a recurring knee injury. The Notts-born all-rounder first broke into the side as a 17 year old in 1996. He has remained a key member of the Nottinghamshire side for over a decade, despite injuries and loss of confidence. He was part of both 2005 and 2010's Notts County Championship winning sides. Franks has also played overseas for New Zealand side Canterbury in 2003 and for Zimbabwean side Mid West Rhinos in 2010–11. Paul also plays for Farnsfield CC in the Bassetlaw & District League when he is not on county duty. He is married to Helen and they have two daughters, Molly Grace and Isabella Rose.
