Philippa de Mohun Royalty

Philippa de Mohun was thrice married, and by her third husband, Edward of Norwich, 2nd Duke of York, was Duchess of York from her husband's accession to the dukedom in 1402 to his death in 1415. Philippa's birthdate is unknown. She was the third daughter of John Mohun, 2nd Baron Mohun (c.1320 – 15 September 1375), and Joan Burghersh (d. 4 October 1404), daughter of Bartholomew de Burghhersh (c.1304 – 3 August 1355), 1st Baron Burghersh, whose mother was Maud de Mortimer.Philippa married firstly, Walter Fitzwalter (d. 26 September 1386), 3rd Baron Fitzwalter, secondly, Sir John Golafre (d. 18 November 1396), and thirdly, before 7 October 1398, Edward of Norwich, 2nd Duke of York. She had no issue by any of her husbands.By her third marriage Philippa became Duchess of York, and was styled Lady of the Isle of Wight on 10 December 1415. She died 17 July 1431 at Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight and was buried in Westminster Abbey.
