Pinki Virani (Bombay-born on 30 January 1959) is an Indian writer, journalist, human-rights activist and author who has won critical acclaim for her four best-selling books "Once was Bombay" (frequently referred to as a "cult book"); "Aruna's Story"; "Bitter Chocolate: Child Sexual Abuse in India" (which won the National Award) and "Deaf Heaven"
