Quentin Davies Baron Davies of Stamford Politician

John Quentin Davies, Baron Davies of Stamford (born 29 May 1944) is a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Grantham and Stamford from 1987 to 2010. Originally elected as a Conservative, he defected to Labour on 26 June 2007. Davies announced in 2010 that he would not stand for re-election in the coming general election. At the general election of 6 May 2010 Nicholas Boles, a Conservative, was elected in his place. On 28 May 2010 it was announced he would be made a life peer in the Dissolution Honours List.
