Randy Johnson Politician

Randy Johnson represents the 5th District of Hennepin County government in Minnesota. Hennepin County is the largest of Minnesota's 87 counties in population, budget and estimated value. Hennepin County's population is 1.1 million, which is 21 percent of the state's total population, and about one third of the population of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Minneapolis is the county seat. Johnson, a member of the County Board since 1979, represents all or portions of the suburban cities of Bloomington, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie and Richfield. Johnson served as chair of the county board of commissioners in 2008. He previously chaired the county board from 1997 through 2000, and from 2004 through 2007. First elected in 1978, Johnson has been re-elected to seven consecutive terms. He is the longest-serving commissioner since the county’s founding in 1852.
