Robert J. Birgeneau Politician
Robert Joseph Birgeneau (born March 25, 1942) is a Canadian physicist and university administrator. He was the ninth chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley from 2004 to 2013, and the fourteenth president of the University of Toronto from 2000 to 2004. His period as the Berkeley chancellor included controversial responses to the Occupy Cal movement.
