Rolf Jäger Military person

Dr. med. Rolf Karl Ernst Jäger (1 November 1912 – 6 January 1984) was a highly decorated Oberstabsarzt (military surgeon with the rank of major) in the Fallschirmjäger during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Rolf Jäger was captured by British in May 1945 and was held until January 1947.
