Sabina Shikhlinskaya Artist
Sabina Shikhlinskaya (Azerbaijani: Səbinə Şixlinskaya); born April 26, 1962, Baku is an Azerbaijani artist and independent curator. She works in painting, video and photography. Being well known with her early modernistic paintings, in the 90s she transitioned to contemporary art. She is one of the pioneers of conceptual art in Azerbaijan. Shikhlinskaya's work explores actual problems of relationship between individual and society. In the art projects curated by Sabina Shikhlinskaya, the social subject is also of high priority.
