Santonio Holmes Jr. (born March 3, 1984) is a wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft after playing college football at Ohio State. In 2009, Holmes was named MVP of Super Bowl XLIII. Holmes was traded to the New York Jets in 2010 in exchange for the Jets' fifth round pick and after performing well, he was signed to a five-year extension during the offseason. He was criticized after he was benched for arguing with a teammate at the end of the 2011 season and his 2012 season ended prematurely after suffering a lisfranc injury.
