Sergei Shirokov Ice hockey player
Sergei Sergeyevich Shirokov (Russian: Серге́й Серге́евич Широков, Russian pronunciation: [sʲɪrˈɡʲej sʲɪrˈɡʲejɪvʲɪtɕ ʂɨˈrokəf]; born March 10, 1986) is a Russian professional ice hockey winger currently with Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Drafted 163rd overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, he is a prospect for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to signing with Vancouver in 2009, Shirokov played with CSKA Moscow for four seasons in the Russian Superleague and Kontinental Hockey League. He returned to CSKA Moscow in 2011 after two years with the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose.
