Skipp Whitman is a hip-hop artist from Brookline, Massachusetts, USA. He has released three self-produced albums, the first “Free Agent” in 2007, “Skipp City” in 2011 and his most recent "5am" in September 2012. Skipp City is his most successful album to date, with its lead single “Famous” single reaching #2 on the college radio charts in Dec 2010.Whitman has opened for Kanye West when West was on tour promoting college dropouts. He has also opened for KRS, Talib Kweli, Kool G Rap, Nas and Guru. Whitman produces most of his own work but has collaborated with Grafh and Skyzoo. He headlined for Whisky A Go Go in LA July 2007.Whitman describes his music as, “autobiographic, reminiscent and honest to a fault”. In Skipp City, he self-produced the album with samples from “Amazing Grace” and “Destination Unknown”.His first self-produced CD was “Mention The Eye, Out to Breakfast” in 2005. A self-produced mix tape called “Skipp Whitman vs. Richard Pryor” was released in 2009.Whitman grew up in an upper-middle-class neighborhood town to artist parents.
