Stefan Goldmann Musical artist

Stefan Goldmann (born 1978) is a German-Bulgarian DJ and composer of electronic music. His works, most of which are conceptually planned, are derived from the aesthetic and technical parameters of techno and vinyl culture, such as sample, loop, edit, grid rhythm, track. He has released records since 2001 through the labels Perlon, Innervisions, Cocoon and others before founding his own imprint, Macro, in 2007. Goldmann is also closely associated with Berlin's Berghain /Panorama Bar club, where he performs regularly and for which he writes a bi-monthly column.In 2010 he collaborated with choreographer Kevin O'day on a ballet commissioned by Nationaltheater Mannheim. Since then he has realized several commissioned and site-specific works outside the club circuit, including a performance at Honen-in Temple in Kyoto, Japan, which has been released as a recording too.Goldmann has written essays on digitization and the aesthetics of electronic music and has published a book on sound presets. He has held lectures and workshops on invitation of DAAD, the Berlin University of the Arts and other institutions. In 2012 he was artist in residence at Goethe Institut's Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, Japan.
