Ted Kaufman Politician

Edward E. "Ted" Kaufman (born March 15, 1939) is an American politician who served as a United States Senator from Delaware from 2009 to 2010. From 2010 until 2011, he chaired the Congressional Oversight Panel in the United States federal government; he is the second and final person to have held that post, succeeding inaugural holder Elizabeth Warren. He is a member of the Democratic Party who previously served on the staff of the United States Senate.Kaufman was appointed to the Senate to fill the term of long-time Senator Joe Biden, who resigned to become Vice President of the United States in January 2009. Prior to becoming a U.S. Senator, Kaufman had been an adviser to Biden for much of his political career.
