Thomas Gaetano LoMedico Artist

Thomas Gaetano LoMedico (1904–1985) was an American sculptor and a designer of commemorative medals.LoMedico studied at the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in New York City and stayed in the city most of his life. He won a $8000 prize from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for a sculpture shown at the New York World's Fair. LoMedico won the Saltus Award in 1956. He also taught at the National Academy of Design.Collections of LoMedico's papers are kept by the Archives of American Art and at the Syracuse University Library.
