Thomas Garnier Cricketer

Thomas Parry Garnier (22 February 1841 – 18 March 1898) was an English cricketer. Garnier was a right-handed batsman. Garnier made his first-class debut for Oxford University Cricket Club in 1861 against the Marylebone Cricket Club. Calder represented Oxford University in nine first-class matches from 1861 to 1863, with his final first-class match for the University coming against Cambridge University. In his nine matches for the University, Garnier scored 199 runs at an average of 15.30, with a high score of 35. Garnier represented the Gentlemen twice in 1861 in the Gentlemen v Players fixture's. Additionally, in 1862 Garnier represented the Gentlemen of the North in a single first-class fixture against the Gentlemen of the South. Garnier's final first-class match came on his debut for Hampshire against Middlesex in Hampshire's debut season with first-class cricket in 1864. Overall, Garnier scored 287 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 13.66, with a high score of 35. Garnier took four catches in his career. Garnier died at St Moritz, Switzerland on March 18, 1898.
