Tom Burtt Cricketer
Thomas Browning Burtt (22 January 1915, Christchurch, Canterbury – 24 May 1988, Christchurch) was a New Zealand cricketer who played in ten Tests from 1947 to 1953. His 128 wickets taken on tour remains a record for New Zealand. In first class cricket, he played 84 games for Canterburybetween 1943 and 1955, taking 40 wickets at 22.19. His brother, Noel Burtt, also played for Canterbury, as did his nephew John Burtt. Between 1937 and 1938, he also represented New Zealand hockey.
