Walter Heitz Military person

Walter Heitz (8 December 1878 – 9 February 1944) was a German Generaloberst, serving during World War II. Heitz commanded the VIII. Armeekorps on the Eastern Front. Heitz died of cancer on 9 February 1944 while in Soviet captivity.
