Walther Fischer von Weikersthal Military person

Walther Ludwig Otto Karl Bernhard Fischer von Weikersthal (15 September 1890 – 11 February 1953) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Walther Fischer von Weikersthal was taken prisoner in May 1945 and was released in 1947.
