Wilhelm Lorenz Military person

Wilhelm Lorenz (25 April 1894 – 2 January 1943) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Lorenz was wounded on 27 December 1942, and died from his wounds on 2 January 1943 in Demyansk, Russia. He was posthumously promoted to Generalmajor.
