William Tait Football player

William Tait was an English professional association footballer who played as an inside forward. He played five matches in the Football League for Burnley before moving into Non-League football.He scored the first ever hat-trick in League football when he put three past Bolton Wanderers at Pike's Lane on 15 September 1888. Burnley won the game 4–3.
