Zhu Jianhua Athlete

Zhu Jianhua is a retired Chinese high jumper. In Helskinki 1983, he became China's first ever male athlete to win a medal in the history of the IAAF World Championships and, in Los Angeles 1984, became China's first ever male athlete to win a medal in the history of the Olympic Games. In addition to Yang Chuan-kwang representing the Republic of China in the 1960 Rome Olympics, Zhu Jianhua and Liu Xiang are still the only two Chinese male track and field athletes to win medals in the Olympic Games. Liu won the 110 m hurdles gold in Athens 2004.
