Kaiser Hamid

Mohammad Kaisar Hamid (Bengali: কায়সার হামিদ) is a Bangladeshi soccer player. He gained name and fame in the million hearts of Football lovers in the 1980s and 1990s as a central defender for Mohammedan Sporting Club in Dhaka's domestic league. His imposing height and mass of curly hair made him instantly recognizable on the soccer pitch, and he was a darling of Mohammedan fans for many years. He also represented Bangladesh at the national level. He currently resides in Dhaka. In 2003 he received his country's National Sports Award along with Sam Warren.Kaiser Hamid's mother Rani Hamid is a famous chess player in South Asia. She is the first FIDE Woman International Master in the history of Bangladesh.Personal LifeKaisar Hamid married Shahnaj Sultana Lopa(an acquaintance from his student life at Dhaka University,now known as Lopa Kaisar) on 19 February 1993. The following November they gave birth to their first daughter Kaarina Kaisar followed by their eldest son Mustafa Shaheer Hamid (1997) and Mohammad Sadat Hamid (2000) all of them are studying in English medium schools.The family is residing happily at their family home in Banani DOHS.
