Andrea Neil Athlete

Andrea Neil is an accomplished female soccer player. Neil retired as a player in December 2007, having played 131 times for the Canadian national women's soccer team and in four consecutive World Cups. She did not immediately decide if she will turn to coaching. Neil earned her historical 100th international cap against Costa Rica on March 5, 2004. She is only the second player in the history of Canadian soccer to reach the Century Mark. She served as the captain and assistant coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps, and has a degree in human kinetics from the University of British Columbia. On February 5, 2009 it was revealed that she would be an assistant coach to the Canadian women's program during a press conference announcing Carolina Morace as the program's head coach. Neil was inducted to Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
