Curtis Greer American football player

Curtis Greer is a former professional American football player who was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round (6th overall) of the 1980 NFL Draft. A 6'4", 256 lbs. defensive end from the University of Michigan, Greer played in eight NFL seasons from 1980 to 1987 for the Cardinals. He played high school football at the prestigious Cass Technical High School graduating in 1976. Greer was a 1979 All-America selection. He set a Michigan record for tackles-for-a-loss in a season (23) and career (48). He was a two-time First-team All-Big Ten Conference selection (1978–79) and helped lead the Wolverines to three conference championships and four bowls. He recorded 30 sacks in 1983–84 and 37.5 in a 41-game stretch of the strike-shortened 1982 season and the 32 games in 1983–84, which total was among the best in the NFL for that period. In 1984 Greer was a Second-team All-NFC selection by UPI.
