Franz Scheidies Military person

Franz Scheidies (22 December 1890 – 7 April 1942) was a German general during the Second World War and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub), serving in the infantry. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade with Oak Leaves was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.Scheidis was killed by a Soviet sniper on 7 April 1942 near Gluschitza.
