George Floyd American football player
George Floyd (born December 21, 1960 in Tampa, Florida) was a safety who played three seasons in the National Football League for the New York Jets. Floyd was an All-American at Eastern Kentucky University. In 1999 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He is currently an administrator at Boone County High School in the Cincinnati suburb of Florence, Kentucky. Floyd was one of the greatest players to ever play at Hernando High School in Brooksville Florida. Floyd was known Statewide for his vicious hard hits and knack for interceptions. After leaving the NFL, George became a teacher and coach of several athletic teams at Bellevue High School in Bellevue Kentucky, just 3 miles south of Cincinnati. He spent nearly 18 years there and very quickly became a favorite among both athletes and students there. He was very often chosen by students as their favorite teacher, coach, and mentor.
