Robert-Georg Freiherr von Malapert Military person

Robert-Georg Freiherr von Malapert called Neufville (7 August 1912 – 21 May 1942) was a German Luftwaffe Stuka pilot and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. He was the first German soldier to be awarded the German Cross in Gold, on 15 October 1941.
