Rudolf Rott Military person

Rudolf Rott (21 January 1918 – 12 February 1945) was a Hauptsturmführer (Captain) in the Waffen SS during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.Hauptsturmführer Rudolf Rott was awarded a posthumous Knight's Cross in February 1945, for his actions while in command of the 1st Company, 11th SS Panzer Regiment Hermann von Salza, 11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division Nordland. He did not survive the war but was killed in action on 12 February 1945.
