Jeff Spek American football player

Jeff Martin Spek (born October 1, 1960) is a former American football tight end. He spent the 1986 NFL season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.Born Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Spek starred in football at El Modena High School in Orange, California. He went on to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but in 1981 decided to transfer to San Diego State University, along with Jim Sandusky.He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 3rd round (81st overall) of the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft of USFL and CFL Players, but never played for the Cowboys. Instead, he was signed by the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League, who had selected Spek in the 15th round (303rd overall) in the 1984 USFL Draft. Spek was one of their leading receivers, sharing the ranking with then-General running back Herschel Walker.In 1986, Spek signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His NFL career ended with a blown knee against the Buffalo Bills.
