Stu Voigt American football player

Stu Voigt is a former NFL tight end. Voigt was born in 1948 in the rough and tumble Westmorland district of Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from Madison West High School in 1966, where he was an all-state running back and track and field standout. His state record in shot put of 66 feet 7 inches, set in 1966, was not broken until 2005. He accepted a football scholarship to the University of Wisconsin–Madison and was a star halfback and tight end on some of the worst teams in Badger history, which won just three games from 1967 - 1969. In 1970, Voigt was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and played in three Super Bowls before retiring after the 1980 season. From 1981 to 1989, he was a color commentator on Vikings radio broadcasts. He is now Chairman of the Board of First Commercial Bank in Bloomington, Minnesota.
